World Series Highlights

The World Series has always been one of the most dramatic events in baseball, and it’s not just because the games are best-of-seven. It has also been a showcase for some incredible, game-changing home runs that have made their way into the lore of the sport. This year was no exception. From Freddie Freeman’s Game 1 walk-off grand slam to a pair of botched Yankee misplays in Game 5, the World Series was full of memorable moments.

LOS ANGELES — The 2024 World Series was the first in a decade to feature both teams playing at their home stadiums, and it ended with a thrilling Game 1. Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam in the 10th inning to win the game and the series for the Los Angeles Dodgers over the New York Yankees. The crowd at Chavez Ravine went insane as Freeman circled the bases and greeted his father in the stands before touching home plate and being mobbed by his teammates.

The series was also notable for the fact that both teams finished last in their divisions the year prior to meeting each other. That is something that has only happened twice in World Series history, the first time was in 1988 when the Minnesota Twins defeated the Atlanta Braves.
