For two weeks in late summer, the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center at Flushing Meadows becomes the epicenter of the sport of tennis as the best players in the world descend on New York City to compete for a Grand Slam title. The US Open is the final Grand Slam tournament of the year, and after competing in the Olympics, French and Wimbledon Championships, the top players are looking to clinch the season-ending title at the last opportunity this year.
The US Open schedule is always packed full of exciting matches and incredible players. This year, the tournament begins on Sunday August 24 and wraps up on Sunday September 7- with the main draw going 15 days instead of the traditional 12. The US Open also expanded its first round to three days from two- which has been a popular change among fans and players alike.
US Open Tip:
It’s always a good idea to check the official US Open app or Daily Schedule of Play daily for the latest information on match times and court locations. You can usually find the schedule for the day you want to see a match on by clicking on the ‘Match Schedule’ tab and selecting the date of interest. Keep in mind that matches are often delayed and that there’s always a chance of rain (even in the US!). Also, not all night matches are broadcast on ESPN+ – be sure to check the specifics of each match for details.
