The US Open schedule kicks off in less than a month, and it includes some notable changes this year. Nicole Kankam, the USTA’s managing director of pro tennis marketing and entertainment joined “Mornings On 1” to preview what’s ahead for fans at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. She discussed this year’s tournament dates, the new schedule for mixed doubles and the plan to transform Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Traditionally, the tournament begins on August 24 and ends September 7. This year the US Open is expanding to 15 days and shifting to a Sunday start for the first time in the event’s history. Fans who subscribed to ticket information from the USTA were notified of the change for this season’s last Grand Slam tennis tournament via emails sent Wednesday.
US Open tickets officially go on sale in early June featuring individual, full-series and group plans. American Express Card holders traditionally get a jump on purchase with special offers. If you want to ensure you see your favorite players, consider monitoring the ticket situation closely in the days prior to the opening and then purchasing based on an educated guess. The USTA will release the 2025 tournament’s daily schedule of play on the Daily Schedule of Play page and app (start checking frequently around mid-day, usually released late afternoon/early evening) and then again in the event app the day before (around Thursday).
Television broadcasters will provide wall-to-wall coverage, from the August opening to the women’s final on September 6 (4-7PM ET) and men’s final on September 7 (4-7PM ET). For more details and live streaming options, visit our TV & Online Broadcast Guide.
