Asian Games 2026 News Bulletin

The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya are set to showcase the best of Asia’s talent – from athletes battling for every last inch on the track to young stars making their breakthrough in swimming. Whether it’s an epic showdown between Japan and China or an incredibly tight final in squash, the Games will pulse with rivalry, and the promise that hours of training are about to pay off.

The organising committee for the 2026 Asian Games has released a new volume of News Bulletins to keep you updated with preparations in Aichi-Nagoya. This edition focuses on two popular sports that made their Asian Games debut at the previous edition in Hangzhou, sport climbing and skating. It also introduces breaking, which is set to be a medal event at the Aichi-Nagoya Games.

This is the third issue of the News Bulletins and a further step in the organising committee’s ongoing communication with stakeholders. The newsletters are designed to inform, update and inspire, and are meant as an aid in the decision-making process for the Games.

With the Asian Games set to open in less than a month, the organising committee is preparing contingency plans to evacuate athletes should there be a tsunami, typhoon or other natural disasters. The Japanese authorities are experienced in dealing with these events and will be ready to ensure the safety of all athletes, Olympic Council of Asia officials told Indian Express. Athletes will be housed in a floating village during the Games, which is scheduled to run from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi and Nagoya.
