The World Test Championship

The World Test Championship was launched in 2019 to add significance to bilateral Test series, giving teams a structured framework over a two-year cycle. The top two teams advance to the final which is hosted at Lord’s. This competition provides a structure for the longest form of the game and also helps increase its popularity in a world dominated by T20 cricket.

The 2025-2027 cycle saw South Africa defeat Australia to claim the first major trophy since its rebirth as an international powerhouse. The victory laid to rest ghosts of heartbreaking defeats on big ICC stages that have haunted the Proteas for decades, such as Birmingham 1999, Dhaka 2011, and Auckland 2015. This win will help set up the team for the 2027 home ODI World Cup and bode well for the team’s confidence ahead of its home T20 World Cup.

The upcoming final will be held at the home of cricket, Lord’s and will be played on 11-15 June 2025. Hospitality tickets are available and you can purchase yours here. You will need to have an active Lord’s Ticketing Account in order to book your hospitality ticket. If you do not have an account please click here to create one.
